Volunteering at Meany Middle School
Help grow our community and support our teachers, staff, and students by volunteering at school!
Throughout the year, Meany has various opportunities for parent volunteers. Volunteers are welcome in classrooms (per teacher request), in the library, and in the lunchroom.
Procedural Update: All on-campus volunteers must complete a Seattle Public Schools short online volunteer training and background check (visit the SPS Volunteering page to learn more and complete the training). Once that is submitted, it then gets forwarded to Ms. Holmes, Meany’s Background Check Coordinator. Once she has run your background check and confirmed completion of all steps, she will send you a confirmation email. You may not volunteer without this confirmation from Ms. Holmes.
After receiving clearance to work in the classroom from Ms. Holmes, please get in touch with Meany PTSA meanymiddleschoolpta@gmail.com. We will follow up with you to learn more about your availability, related experience, and specific interests for working in the classroom in order to be able to match you with a need at the school.
To learn more about volunteering with SPS, please also take a look at the SPS Volunteer Handbook.
Thank you for your willingness to help out!
