Meany Middle School-School Street Program

What is a School Street?
A School Street is a residential block next to a school that’s closed to cars and open for walking, biking, and school buses. Local access (e.g. adjacent neighbors, emergency access, deliveries, ADA access) are always allowed.
How can I drop my student off by car?
•Try parking a block away and walking in
•District transportation (e.g., school buses and
Hop, Skip, Drive) and students with mobility
needs are welcome to access the block

Seattle has one of the most robust School Street programs in the country. Each year we’re converting more temporary School Streets to permanent.

School Streets reduce the number of people driving next to the school for cleaner air and a safer and more welcoming school environment.
