Meany Community Celebration was a Success!

Thank You!

It is always important to give thanks, so on behalf of Meany Middle School Parent & Community Outreach Committee and Meany PTSA we say THANK YOU! Meany’s first community celebration was a success.

We included some images of the day, all smiles! Believe it or not, this was Meany’s first all-inclusive event since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which closed in-person learning March 2020. Everything had been virtual up until that point, so this gathering of students, families, neighbors and community partners was refreshing.

Surprisingly, we had new Meany families of rising students attend, those who are matriculating into 6th grade next year, get a little taste of our good energy (smile).

We appreciate the following organizations for their time and contributions for our event:

  • Cone & Steiner
  • Hello Robin
  • The Red Balloon Company
  • Macrina Bakery
  • The Wellness Center | The Country Doctor – Aviva E. Rubin
  • ZEEK’s Pizza
  • Seattle Cares Mentoring Movement – Don Cameron

Thank you to the many parent volunteers and to those who stepped in last minute to help. We could not have done so well without you.

  • Anne Rakunas
  • Adam Rakunas
  • Sarah K.B. Kent
  • Jess Beaumont
  • Karen Lewis
  • Sally Brock

Thanks to the savory and sweet items from Alaskan Dumpling 2 and Sugar + Spoon food trucks, your services and delicious food were superb!

We have heard nothing but positive comments on what should become an annual event. Having the community partnerships show our Meany community that your care.

Enjoy some images of some of the activities from the Meany Community Celebration!

Thank you,
