    Dear Meany Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

    This spring, your child will take the Smarter Balanced tests in Math and English Language Arts. Students in grades 8 will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).

    This is the fifth year our state will administer the Smarter Balanced tests and the second year for the WCAS. The results from these tests will give a more accurate picture of whether students are on track to be ready for college or career.

    Most students will take the tests online. Our school schedule is as follows:

    May 6, 7, 9, 10 - ELA exams
    May 13, 14, 16, 17 - Math assessments
    May 28, 29, 30 - Science WCAS testing

    On these first eight days between May 6-17, our students will be testing throughout the day in various periods. Please make sure that they have a good breakfast and come to school on time.

    **In addition, for the ELA test, if your child has a set of earphones that can plug
    into a computer, please have them bring them to school May 6,7, 9 and 10.

    Sincerely,
