Yesterday, the Meany ASB Student Council went on a field trip to visit Food Lifeline in South Seattle. Food Lifeline receives food donations from various sources and sorts the food product so that it can be sent out to local food banks. Students arrived for a brief orientation and then went to work sorting proteins, fruits, vegetables, snacks, grains, baking supplies, etc.

Together, they sorted 6,742 lbs. of food.

    This equals 5,618 meals.

Here is a group of photo with our oversized novelty check. Thank you for your support and allowing our kids to learn about food insecurity, community service, and nonprofit organizations!
