    Community Event

Meany Middle School is organizing a funCommunity Outreach Event that will be held at the school on Saturday, December 14th from 1:00-4:00 PM and is designed to offer resources for students and families in Seattle Public Schools (we are specifically reaching out to invite Washington Middle School and Garfield High School families).

NIKE will be sponsoring the event and will be sending Nike Seattle's community outreach team. There will be activities for students like basketball, Cake Walk, raffles, slim station, and more!

Nike will be donating gently used shoes for a raffle, and students will also be offered chances to win prizes. Some Nike employees will also be "sponsoring" a student in need and purchasing them a new pair of shoes.

While students engage in activities, parents will have a chance to speak to different representatives from Meany Middle School and learn about other resources available from Country Doctor to YMCA. Our nurse will have a station available to speak to families about the Meany Closet, Food Bags, and will offer food bags for families in need to take home.

Refreshments will also be available at the event including cookies donated by Hello Robin.

In conjunction with the Community Outreach day on Saturday, December 14th, we are going to do a food drive at school from November 25 - December 13. Each history teacher will have a box for donations.
